Status Reciprocity
On bringing the hidden into the surface.
Unification and conciliation are interstitial. They have intrinsic correlates — names a system already wears on the outside. That pairing is Status Reciprocity:
Unification leads to Centralization.
Conciliation leads to Decentralization.
STATUS RECIPROCITY: Correlation between interstitial and intrinsic attributes, modulated by mixed synthesis.
| STATUS RECIPROCITY | Dysfunctional Status | Functional Status |
|---|---|---|
| Interstitial Attributes | Unification | Conciliation |
| Intrinsic Attributes | Centralization | Decentralization |
From here, a centralized system can be read as unifying underneath: lasting by gathering authority, even at the cost of function. A decentralized system can be read as conciliating: staying functional by rotating, splitting, or replacing its parts. The questions become usable:
- What are the highest dangers that block decentralization here?
- How could this centralized system become decentralized?
- What does each intrinsic status cost?
- Which frameworks would actually help a turn toward decentralization, rather than decorate it?
Some decentralized systems already try to live by iterated imperdurable functionality. Blockchain implementations — smart contracts, decentralized applications, DAOs — are designed around a decentralization philosophy that is uncommon in other digital systems. Their variety of frameworks makes them a live surface for Conciliatorics, not because the treatise is a blockchain treatise, but because the cut is already in the design.
The same cut belongs to government, and to local organizations that have to last without pretending a given arrangement is eternal. Design heuristics, tests of a turn, shared practices: all of that can be drawn from Status Reciprocity, and the drawing will, in return, pressure the theory to stay honest. The implementations are not a side hobby. They are how the interstitial names get tested against intrinsic ones.
